Alex assesses that there are many reasons that for his missed opportunities, many an underestimation of the time and money he would be able to gain as well as the effort it would take before a rug pull could be executed.
According to him, the hardest part is learning when to cut his investors off at just the right time to inflict maximum pain. It all came full circle when the sage advice, “Fuck others over and lie until the end” came to Alex through a fortune cookie while at a local eatery in Manhattan. He realized that some of his lessons took 20 years of lawsuits to learn.

This beautiful scam had it all. Unfortunately, Mashitsky wasn’t able to participate as he was unable to convince the founders that he invented VOIP. “Hey, you can’t fool everybody” Alex bravely stated. “I guess it really does take a con artist to spot a con artist!”

Watching on the sidelines, Alex would have loved to be part of this fantastic scam. What a great way to make a name for yourself. Alas, Mashitsky was busy researching botox and lip injections doctors for his wife.
